Beckinsale Is In A Fourth "Underworld"
Kate Beckinsale is attached to star in the 3D fourth "Underworld", however her role will merely be a cameo according to Bloody Disgusting and Variety.Sources tell the site she's "trying to find a way out of the film -- or at least have a smaller role in order to "pass the torch" to one of her kindred".
Screenwriter John Hlavin has previously said that the film isn't a prequel, telling Heat Vision Blog that "It will satisfy old fans and excite new audiences, meaning that we don't want to redo the first three movies, so steps are being taken to honor what fans have loved but at the same time introduce fresh elements."
The film is currently scheduled to hit theatres on January 21st 2011.
Synopsis : Underworld: Awakening brings a stunning new dimension to the epic battle between Vampires and Lycans as the first film in the franchise to shoot in 3D.
Kate Beckinsale, star of the first two films, returns in her lead role as the vampire warrioress Selene, who escapes imprisonment to find herself in a world where humans have discovered the existence of both Vampire and Lycan clans and are conducting an all-out war to eradicate both immortal species.
