Morgan Freeman and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau joins Tom Cruise
Morgan Freeman is joining the Joseph Kosinski ("TRON LEGACY") -directed film that has gone by both the titles "OBLIVION" (which is what the comic is called) and "HORIZONS". He'll be joining Tom Cruise, Andrea Riseborough and Olga Kurylenko in the Universal release.Moreover, the project has just added "GAME OF THRONES" star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. Coster-Waldau is said to be playing a military expert named Sykes.
The film is based on Kosinski's own Radical Publishing comic book series, which is described as follows: In a future where the Earth's surface has been irradiated beyond recognition, the remnants of humanity live above the clouds, safe from the brutal alien Scavengers that stalk the ruins. But when surface drone repairman Jak discovers a mysterious woman in a crash-landed pod, it sets off an unstoppable chain of events that will force him to question everything he knows.
Michael Arndt is rewriting a script by William Monahan and Karl Gajdusek. The movie is scheduled for a July 19, 2013 release.
Synopsis : One of the few remaining drone repairmen assigned to Earth, its surface devastated after decades of war with the alien Scavs, discovers a crashed spacecraft with contents that bring into question everything he believed about the war, and may even put the fate of mankind in his hands.
