Dee Snider to attack Chicago Fango con Heavy metal great Dee Snider, who wrote and starred in the fright flick STRANGELAND, has joined the lineup of the next FANGORIA's Weekend of Horrors convention, presented by Anchor Bay Entertainment, to be held in Chicago, IL, March 4-5, 2006. Snider will discuss his work with FANGORIA TV, as well as his planned unrated STRANGELAND rerelease and sequel. The rocker has been touring in recent years with his latest musical project, Van Helsing's Curse.

Other guests set for Fango's Chicago blast, which will be held at the newly renovated Wyndham Chicago O'Hare Hotel (6810 North Mannheim Road, Rosemont, IL), include: pioneering ghoul master George A. Romero; MASTERS OF HORROR creator/producer/director Mick Garris; a gigantic SLITHER panel with writer/director James (DAWN OF THE DEAD) Gunn, stars Michael (HENRY) Rooker, Gregg (BODY DOUBLE) Henry and Elizabeth (SPIDER-MAN) Banks and producers Eric (DAWN OF THE DEAD) Newman and Paul (WHITE NOISE) Fox; director Mark (SCARE ME) Borchardt, subject of the documentary AMERICAN MOVIE and featured in Christopher Garetano's HORROR BUSINESS (Garetano will also be on hand); 2001 MANIACS director Tim Sullivan and his film's femme fatales, Wendy Kremer and Christa Campbell; scream queen siren Misty (SCREAMING DEAD) Mundae and her SHOCK-O-RAMA director Brett Piper; a Mindfire Entertainment panel with actress Ellie (HALLOWEEN 4) Cornell, director Michael (HOUSE OF THE DEAD II) Hurst and producer Mark (THE THIRST) Altman; FANGORIA TV hostess Debbie (TRAILER PARK) Rochon; RING film series actress Kelly Stables (a hit at both the West and East coast WOH editions) and original FRIDAY THE 13TH Jason Ari Lehman, who will perform with his new horror rock band, Firstjason.

Veteran director Gary Sherman, responsible for the fright classics RAW MEAT (a.k.a. DEATH LINE) and DEAD & BURIED, will discuss his career as well, including his genre return, the serial killer thriller 39—A FILM BY CARROLL MCKANE. THE ROCKVILLE SLAYER writer/director Marc Selz and actors Joe (SOULTAKER) Estevez and Robert (MANIAC COP) Z'Dar will discuss their recent slasher yarn. Indie director Rusty (ACNE) Nails will offer tips to fans on breaking into the low-budget fright scene and debut clips from his feature-length documentary on Romero. FX artist/director Ryan Nicholson and actor Rob Scattergood will preview their gory torture flick LIVE FEED, while KNB EFX Group founder-turned director Robert (WISHMASTER) Kurtzman (along with co-scripter John Bisson) will have the first footage from their new chiller THE RAGE.
