Blake Lively Joins "GREEN LANTERN"
"GOSSIP GIRL" and "THE SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTS" star Blake Lively is set to play the female love interest in the "GREEN LANTERN" film for Warner Bros. Pictures says Heat Vision.Latino Review first reported the rumor awhile back with Lively playing Carol Ferris, the woman who hires hot-shot test pilot Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds) to her father's aerospace company, which she's running, before he gets the ring to become Earth's Green Lantern.
In comic lore, Ferris ultimately becomes the villain Star Sapphire though that's likely not happening in this film. Lively beat out Keri Russell and Jennifer Garner for the role.
Martin Campbell directs the project which begins shooting in March.
Synopsis : In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps.
