HELLRAISER’s Bradley on sequels
In two separate recent interviews, Doug Bradley - the man behind the makeup of the iconic Pinhead from Clive Barker's HELLRAISER pictures – has offered fans a look ahead at the two upcoming HELLRASIER sequels, both of which are slated to go straight to video. The Dark Horizons website has posted a brief interview with Bradley in which the site reports that Bradley recently completed filming for the seventh and eight films in the franchise; Bradley says that he sent an email to Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger from the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET pictures) crowing that Pinhead had now been featured in as many horror films as Krueger. In this interview Bradley also ventured some opinions on the HELLRAISER series, saying that the original (written and directed by Barker) was his favorite and the fifth (HELLRAISER 5: INFERNO) was the weakest by far.
Of the two upcoming pictures, Bradley was more confident about the seventh, saying he would be “interested” to find out how fans respond to the eighth. The seventh HELLRAISER picture, currently titled HELLRAISER 7: DEADER, stars Kari Wuhrer (ANACONDA, EIGHT-LEGGED FREAKS) as a reporter for a London newspaper who stumbles across the sinister world of Pinhead and the Cenobites.
In a separate interview with Fangoria, Bradley discussed the eighth HELLRASIER picture, currently titled HELLRAISER: DEADWORLD, which he summarized as, “Five edgy-type friends obsessed with Hellworld.com, a computer game, (are) invited by ‘invitation only' to a party to play the real game and go into the world of HELLRAISER.”
