"THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE" Sequel Revealed, Gets Ban
"THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE II" is this year's sequel to the ultra low-budget shock horror tale of a mad scientist sewing people together ass-to-mouth in a mad medical experiment. The filmmakers have promised are far sicker, darker and more twisted follow-up in the sequel. Now it looks like they've been proven right.Empire Online reports that the British Board of Film Classification has, in a rare decision, rejected classification of the film on the basis that it is "sexually violent and potentially obscene". The film now cannot be legally supplied anywhere in the UK, unlike the original which was released uncut with an 18 rating last year.
While the BBFC can and often do cut certain material from releases, this film has "unacceptable material throughout" which makes cuts impossible. The filmmakers have six weeks to appeal the decision.

The BBFC also issued a lengthy letter outlining their reasons and in the process revealing just how boundary pushing the film is and follows a man who becomes sexually obsessed with a DVD recording of the first film and who imagines putting the ‘centipede' idea into practice.
In one early scene the man masturbates with sandpaper wrapped around his penis. He becomes aroused as the sight of the forced defecation at another point, and the real shocker is a scene near the end which culminates in him "wrapping barbed wire around his penis and raping the woman at the rear of the ‘centipede'".
Unlike the first film where the acts were shown as a revolting medical experiment and the focus on the victims trying to escape, this one puts the focus on the protagonist's depraved violent sexual fantasy. There's also "strong focus throughout on the link between sexual arousal and sexual violence and a clear association between pain, perversity and sexual pleasure....[which] poses a real, as opposed to a fanciful, risk that harm is likely to be caused to potential viewers."
Synopsis : artin is a mentally disturbed loner who lives with his mother in a bleak housing project. He works the night shift as a security guard in an equally grim and foreboding underground parking complex. To escape his dreary existence, Martin loses himself in the fantasy world of the cult horror film The Human Centipede (First Sequence), fetishizing the meticulous surgical skills of the gifted Dr. Heiter, whose knowledge of the human gastrointestinal system inspires Martin to attempt the unthinkable.
