Jessica Alba Starring in "BARBARELLA" Remake?

From CinemaBlend comes word that hot off the heels of Robert Rodriquez kicking Rose McGowan to the curb... Jessica Alba will star in the upcoming "BARBARELLA" remake. WOW! You will recall that the studio shelfed the movie because they wanted a bigger name on the bill. I have to admit Alba is a bigger name and one that will lure in a certain demographic of horn dog males! So a long while back we told you via reader Ashs Missing Hand that Robert Rodriquez's Barbarella had been dropped by Universal. The source was the New York Observer that said the movie was dropped because of the female lead, namely Rose McGowan;

"It's sort of embarrassing for everyone involved. ... No one thinks Rose can carry the movie, but Robert won't listen." The paper adds that producer Dino De Laurentiis "wants to back Robert and his vision. But Robert's vision is blurred by Rose."

So there you have it. Seems that "BARBARELLA" is still on but with a much higher profile leading lady in the talks.
