Platinum Dunes Behind "MONSTER SQUAD" Remake
Deadline New York is reporting that Platinum Dunes, which produced "THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE", "FRIDAY THE 13TH" and "A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET" remakes, have come on board the remake of "THE MONSTER SQUAD".It's been over a year since Rob Cohen revealed that he was actively working with Paramount Pictures to remake "THE MONSTER SQUAD". Cohen was a producer on the original directed by Fred Dekker.
A writer is now being sought for the new version.
"THE MONSTER SQUAD", written by Shane Black and Fred Dekker, was released in '87 and told of a monster-lovin' group of kids who side with the Frankenstein monster and must do battle with Dracula, the Wolfman, the Mummy and the Gill-Man.
