As a child, Clifton Childree had a strange dream : he imagined a giant ball floating in his room and inflicting him a disease. Then, he asked his mother to explain him what this dream meant and she answered him that it was simply the flu. He understood "The Flew".

At the same time, Childree studied Beekeeping and started to notice some similarities between the flighing ball he imagined in his dream and a beehive. So he had worked on this idea for six years to give us this quite strange movie.

"THE FLEW" is a silent movie in black and white. The story happens during a fun fair. The shooting range (called "The Flew"), one of the only sideshows we can see in the movie, is composed of two different settings : a pharmacy and Otto's room, a lifelike automaton living quite a monotonous existence, and who undergoes the unceasing shots from the range customers...

Strange, weird, disturbing... this is how "THE FLEW" can be qualified, first because of the disuse of its production method, and most of all because of the peculiarity of its story, which make you think more about a cock-and-bull dream than a movie with a real plot. The acting of Clifton Childree as the automaton outstanding and the lights associated with the typical unhealthy music of the fun fairs add an unreal touch to the atmosphere of this movie all in all quite experimental.
