Robert Englund in a sequel of the Phantom ?

Robert Englund in a sequel of the Phantom Mr Robert Englund has been around for some time now in the horror genre. While other actors try to distance themselves from that type of films, Mr Englund don't and the best part is that he loves it!

Next year, he'll be seen in Tim Sullivan's 2001 Maniacs as Mayor Buckman, and there are many rumours about a sequel to Freddy Vs Jason. However, New Line haven't made their mind about who will fight who in that movie.

In an interview with the magazine called Shiver, Robert Englund reveals that he's planning on doing a sequel to the 1989 Phantom of the Opera but that the funding of this movie hasn't been found yet.

Here's a part of the interview where he reveals a part of the plot :"Originally we were going to do the film in two parts and the sequel was going to be called The Phantom of Manhattan - it is a great script,"Englund tells Shivers. "The Phantom lives in a subway under New York, under the super structure of the city, and he has a little boy and some mole people who work for him. He's still piecing his face together and he hears this voice – and it's this blind girl who sings in the subway. She's an immigrant and he loves her voice and writes music for her to sing. She's blind so she doesn't know how deformed he is and so she agrees to sing his music. Then someone from the Metropolitan Opera hears her and the Phantom loses her... so she is going to debut at Carnegie Hall and the Phantom kills some people in the audience and pieces his face together and sits watching her performance."

Let's cross our finger that this movie will find the funding it needs!
