Scary Movie Contest

AOL RED, the online home for teens, invites aspiring filmmakers between the ages of 13 and 17 to grab their video cameras and make a scary movie for its annual Halloween Scary Movie Contest. Complete details are now available at http://www.theinnocentsonred.com/Scary-Movie/scary_movie.htm

Scary Movie entries will be judged according to three criteria: setting, acting and originality. AOL RED will select the five top semi-finalists and post the videos online before asking RED users to vote for their favorites. The person whose film receives the most votes takes home the grand prize. The winner will be announced on Halloween. One lucky winner will receive the grand prize, an Apple® MacBookPro laptop computer (2.16 GHz) with a 15.4" screen and a copy of FinalCut Express HD 3.5 video editing software. One First Prize winner will receive a Sanyo Xacti VPC-C6 digital video camera and an 80GB Apple® iPod. And one second prize winner will receive an 80GB Apple® iPod.

“Last Halloween, our talented audience sent us movies that were scary, funny, creepy, weird or completely off the wall ... we love that!” said Malcolm Bird, Senior Vice President, AOL Kids and Teens. “Now we challenge teens everywhere to get creative, have fun and show us what you've got.”

To enter, send a VHS or DVD movie, no longer than 3 minutes, with your name, address, phone number, date of birth and email address to: AOL "Make Your Own Scary Movie" Contest c/o AOL, 22265 Pacific Blvd., Dulles, VA 20166. A minor (a person under 18 years of age) submitting an entry must include his/her parent's/legal guardian's name and daytime telephone number. All entries must be received by October 11. Complete rules available at http://www.theinnocentsonred.com/Scary-Movie/scary_movie.htm
