"HOW TO BE A SERIAL KILLER" - First Stills and Poster
"HOW TO BE A SERIAL KILLER" is the story of Mike Wilson, a charismatic, educated, and articulate young man who has found his life's purpose in exterminating people. The film will alsobe playing as part of the NYCHFF this month.

"GNAW" - First Images and Teaser Art
In this terrifying cross between "TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE" and "SAW", six friends vacation in the heart of the english countryside turns into a culinary nightmare when they discover that their hosts are a sadistic family of cannibals who are set on putting their guests on the menu.

"THE CHAIR 2 : RESURRECTION OF CROWE" - Brett Sullivan Directing & Early Art
Sullivan ("GINGER SNAPS II") and writing parner Michael Capellupo are currently writing a sequel of "THE CHAIR", which is being called "THE CHAIR 2: RESSURRECTION OF CROWE".

The Crowe of the title is Edgar Crowe, the long-dead mesmerist who made life so hellish for the heroines in Sullivan's original. Apparently not only has he not been defeated, but he's got some new tricks up his sleeve as well. Kasch conveyed that part of the story has to do with a decomposing man who kidnaps a child and places him in the titular device. Then, through a website called Mordecai Macabre, he broadcasts the child's struggle with instructions to the parents that if they don't do everything he tells them to, their boy will die in 48 hours.

Another "30 DAYS OF NIGHT"
STYD confirmed that a sequel to "30 DAYS OF NIGHT" is in the works. Word is that Steve Niles will be writing the screenplay with Ben Ketai.
The sequel will follow Stella (Melissa George) as she sets out for revenge on the vampires who made her life hellish over that long month.

"PIRANHA" - New Concept Art and Writers
Alexandre Aja will be reteaming with his regular writing parter, Grégory Levasseur, to pen the latest draft of "PIRANHA 3-D" for The Weinstein Company.
In Lake Havasu, Arizona, a tremor causes the lake's floor to open, setting free scores of prehistoric piranhas...

"SEVENTH MOON" - Poster
"THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT"'s Ed Sanchez has a new horror flick with some Far East flavor on the way called "SEVENTH MOON" starring Amy Smart, and its poster had its debut at this year's AFM.

"ANIMALS" - Sales One Sheet
The story adapted for the big screen by Craig Spector, centers on a blue-collar man in a dying factory town whose life is jolted after becoming involved in a romantic triangle amid a spate of uncontrolled violence.

"THE SHADOWS WITHIN" - Sales Sheet and Trailer
"THE SHADOWS WITHIN" is a supernatural thriller about Maurice Dumont, a nine year-old who can connect with the dead. Propelled by grief over the death of Maurice's twin brother Jacques at birth, his mother Marie falls under the influence of Madame Armand, who convinces Marie to force her son to act as a medium to the next world. As Jacques asserts himself through Maurice, he comes to the realization that they both desire the same thing: their parents' love, only Jacques does not want to return to the living: he wants his parents to join him in the afterlife.

"THE DAISY CHAIN" - Sales Art and Synopsis
From the critically acclaimed director of "SONG FOR A RAGGY BOY", and starring double Oscar-nominee Samantha Morton, "THE DAISY CHAIN" is a chilling supernatural thriller of obsession, superstition and fear. Blending the unsettling atmosphere of "THE WICKER MAN" with the terrifying scenario of "ROSEMARY'S BABY", "THE DAISY CHAIN" explores the dark side of the heart in a way that will devastate audiences everywhere.

Tomas and Martha are a couple still in the fresh grip of young love, despite suffering a recent tragedy that has left them heartbroken. Resolute and determined to get on with life, the pair decide to move back to Tomas's home village in the remote Irish countryside, keen to start afresh and to put their unspoken devastation behind them.

As Tomas always hoped, Martha is instantly won over by the breathtaking beauty of their new home. Perched on the cliffs above the North Atlantic, the village is as quaint and as peaceful as they could have hoped - the perfect place to settle down for the imminent birth of their second child.

But tragedy seems to have followed them. Not long after their arrival, they are shocked by the apparent suicide of another young couple - also recently bereaved following the mysterious death of their son - who set fire to their home in a strangely ritualistic act of violence. Their seven year old daughter survived the fire. Her name is Daisy.

Appalled by this turn of events, Martha sees Daisy as a lost soul in need of love and support, and she quickly persuades Tomas to let the young child stay in their new home. Uncommunicative and clearly disturbed by the tragedy that befell her parents, Daisy is a strange and unsettling presence in their life, but Martha's own tragic history and a growing sense of insecurity makes her recognize the damaged young girl as a kindred-spirit, who can be nursed back to happiness with love and affection.

But soon, the whispering starts. The locals, steeped in folktales, mythology and superstition, begin to question Daisy's origins. They tell stories of faeries and changelings, local malevolent spirits that spoil crops, sour milk, steal children.

But Martha does not understand - surely they can see that Daisy is just a troubled young girl? An innocent child, cruelly victimized by her parents, and then witch-hunted by a perverse and outdated community, governed more by superstition than by reason. Daisy's just an innocent young child.

Isn't she?

In the tradition of "THE OTHERS" and "THE OMEN", "THE DAISY CHAIN" delivers an emotional and terrifying punch.

"COCKNEYS VS ZOMBIES"
According to the AFM film book, "BEYOND THE RAVE" director Matthias Hoene will be stepping behind the camera for his first feature film project, "COCKNEYS VS ZOMBIES", a horror-comedy about zombies that overrun London. The film is the story of two small time crooks fighting for survival after a Zombie outbreak in London.

"TURISTAS" Director Heads "LOBO"
"TURISTAS" director John Stockwell will now be directing Stone Village Pictures' "LOBO", a spec script for an action thriller by about a colony of werewolves in Brazil. In the film, a man receives a photo and letters from his mother's will, then heads to an isolated town in the Amazon to discover his roots. There, he discovers a near-extinct species of werewolves and his true identity, and he helps the werewolves wage a battle for survival.

John Carpenter's "RIOT"
According to the AFM film book, John Carpenter's "SCARED STRAIGHT" has officially been retitled to "RIOT".
Produced by Nu Image, Nicolas Cage is still toplining the film that follows a death row inmate who is helping to reform a group of juvenile delinquents in a Scared Straight program when a large-scale riot breaks out. The screenplay was written by Joe Gazzam.

"RINGU" Helmer Finds Terror In "CHATROOM"
Hideo Nakata, the Japanese helmer of "THE RING TWO", "RINGU" and "DARK WATER", is to direct "CHATROOM", a psychological thriller about teenagers who encourage each other's destructive behavior.
The pic is being sold by new sales company WestEnd Films and will be Nakata's first original helming effort in English. "CHATROOM" was written by Enda Walsh as an adaptation of his own stage play. "Nakata has come up with something very visual, very conceptual, and situated somewhere between "DISTURBIA" and "CUBE"", said WestEnd founder Eve Schoukroun.

Another Serial Killer in "THE OTHER SIDE OF INNOCENCE"
Jonathan Lipnicki plans to star in the psychological thriller "THE OTHER SIDE OF INNOCENCE", which Dev-O-Ron Pictures is offering at the American Film Market. Lipnicki, who made his film debut as Renee Zellweger's son in 1996's "Jerry Maguire" and is now a senior at Los Angeles' Agoura High School, would star as a damaged young man who becomes romantically involved with the unhappy daughter of the local chief detective while a serial killer is threatening their town. Robert Redlin ("AFTER DARK, MY SWEET") has written the screenplay, and Devorah Cutler is attached to direct.
Rhonda Lipnicki, the actor's mother, and Cutler are producing through the Dev-O-Ron Pictures.

"PARASOMNIA" - Creepy New Art
The film is a horrifying love story about an art student who falls in with a sleeping beauty, only to find out too late that she holds a deadly secret.

"BURNING BRIGHT" - First image & Lionsgate Acquires
"BURNING BRIGHT" centers on a 20-year-old and her autistic little brother who are trapped in a house with a ravenous tiger during a hurricane. Briana Evigan of "SORORITY ROW" and "S. DARKO" stars.

"X-MEN" Writers Tackles "WEREWOLF" Feature
David Hayter, writer of "WATCHMEN", "X-MEN" and "X2", will be both writing and directing a feature film for Crystal Sky entitled "WEREWOLF".
In the film a 17-year-old boy learns that he's a werwolf during a hot date. After waking up and finding his family dead, he flees to New England where he takes shelter. Each night animals around the town are being slaughtered, which pits the lead against a group of creatures that leads to a big government conspiracy.

"BURST" - Writer,Director & Plot
Mandate Pictures revealed that they've tapped Daniel Calparsoro to direct Gary Dauberman's "BURST".
In the film being produced by Ghost House Pictures, a young woman running from her troubles finds herself stranded at a lodge with a group of strangers. One after another, they inexplicably begin to burst into pieces. Shock quickly descends into paranoia as nobody knows who to trust. And as the mystery unravels, the survivors realize that what's causing this unstoppable phenomenon is bigger and more disturbing than anyone could have ever imagined.

[REC] Producer Plans an "EXORCISM"
Filmax International announced at this week's AFM in Santa Monica, CA that they'll be producing "EXORCISMUS", a new film from Luis De La Madrid - director of "THE NUN" and writer of Guillermo del Toro's "THE DEVIL'S BACKBONE".
The film was written by David Muñoz and is being produced by the man behind "[REC]", Julio Fernández!

Sony Pictures Acquires "MOON"
Sony Pictures has acquired domestic rights Duncan Jones's scifi-thriller "MOON", which stars Sam Rockwell, Kaya Scodelario, Benedict Wong, Matt Berry, Malcolm Stewart, Dominique McElligott and Kevin Spacey. In the film, Astronaut Sam Bell has a quintessentially personal encounter while stranded on the moon for a three-year period.

"SPEED DEMON" - Teaser Art
Stan Winston Productions' "SPEED DEMON" is finally getting underway with Peter Winther behind the camera.
The movie follows an underworld enforcer who hunts a small time crook on a desert highway, but he finds that he, himself, is being tracked by a mysterious, terrifying creature. The screenplay was written by Mike Sorrentino and Randy Vampotic.

"THE OBJECTIVE" - New Poster Art
Here's a new art for Daniel Myrick ("THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECTS") latest horror project, "THE OBJECTIVE".
Four months before the invasion of Afghanistan, six Special-Ops soldiers and one embedded reporter are faced with an enemy that none of them could ever have imagined. While on the mission they find themselves lost in a Middle Eastern 'Bermuda Triangle' of ancient evil.

"CARRIERS" - First Images & Poster Art
After sitting on Paramount Vantage's shelf for over two years now, Àlex Pastor and David Pastor's "CARRIERS" is finally looking for an international release (no plans domestically yet).
The film follows four friends fleeing a viral pandemic soon learn they are more dangerous than any virus.

"SUCK" - Monster Musical Cast
Rob Stefaniuk is slated to write and direct "SUCK", a new movie in which "Vampires Rock". What's big about this film is that Alice Cooper, Moby, Iggy Pop and Henry Rollins all star, alongside Malcom McDowell ("HEROES", "HALLOWEEN") and Jessica Pare.
In the film Eddie Van Helsing hunts down a band of vampires. In short, "SUCK" is a Rock'n'roll vampire satire about a group of rockstar wannabies in search of immortality and a record deal. Rob Stefaniuk also stars in the newest film with bite.

"DEAD IN 3 DAYS 2" - Poster & Stills
Dimension Exreme will release on DVD in 2009 "DEAD IN 3 DAYS", a film that takes its tune from classics such as "FRIDAY THE 13TH" and "THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE".
One year ago, Nina survived the attacks of a serial killer. She wants to flee from these memories but one call at night recalls all memories and she is again in the middle of a murder mystery.

"[REC]" Sequel Begins Shooting November 10th
Filmax announced at this year's AFM that "[REC] 2" is set to begin filming on November 10th.
The same talented directors stick to the same claustrophobic concept in "REC 2," but find new means of transferring fear from the screen to the spectator through the recording lens. Jaume Balaguero and Paco Plaza are both reteaming to direct the sequel to the Spanish film.

"UNDER THE MOUNTAIN" - Disgusting Image of Sam Neill
Here's a pretty disgusting picture from Jonathan King's ("BLACK SHEEP") latest horror feature, "UNDER THE MOUNTAIN", which stars Sam Neill, Sophie McBride, Tom Cameron, Leon Wadham and Oliver Driver.
When teenage twins investigate the creepy old house next door, they discover shape-shifting creatures that lurk beneath a ring of extinct volcanoes in a subterranean world.

"CARJACKED" - Sales art
Ron Perlman ("HELLBOY") and Saffron Burrows will face off in "CARJACKED", a thriller about a single mother and her child who are carjacked by a bank robber who has no intention of letting them go. Sherry and Michael Compton wrote the film, which will be directed by Dan Reed.

"BLED" - Three Pieces of Art
From the executive producer of "THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE" comes Christopher Hutson's "BLED", which follows Sai, a young artist living in a downtown warehouse delves into an ancient world of blood and lust. An enigmatic foreigner seduces her to try a long forgotten drug making her the prey of a dimensional vampire who needs her new found hunger for blood to cross over from his world to hers.
