"CABIN IN THE WOODS" Bumped a YEAR, Going 3-D
MGM has announced this afternoon that the Joss Whedon scripted high-concept horror/slasher "THE CABIN IN THE WOODS" has been bumped from it's planned February 2010 date and will now arrive in theaters on January 14, 2011. Another surprise is that they'll be turning the Drew Goddard ("CLOVERFIELD") directed project 3-D for its release.
The Cabin story line provides a new twist on a classic scenario -- in this case the young-people-stranded-in-the-woods horror trope.
Synopsis : Five friends go to a remote cabin in the woods. Bad things happen. If you think you know this story, think again. From fan favorites Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard comes THE CABIN IN THE WOODS, a mind-blowing horror film that turns the genre inside out.
