Last week brought the news that Relativity Media was negotiating to finance the live-action big-screen version of the toy and cartoon franchise "VOLTRON", with a director to reportedly be hired this week. A report today claims to know the identity of that director.According to Latino Review, Max Makowski has been tapped to direct "VOLTRON". Makowski has directed episodes of The Agency and Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, and is attached to direct the movie version of the TV series "KUNG FU" for Warner Bros.
Latino Review's sources claim that hiring Makowski is "like having Zack Snyder do "300". Max is supposed to have a great visual style that's very specific and all his own."
Speaking of "300", Relativity Media reportedly wants to bring down the cost of Voltron by employing the sort of CG technology used in Snyder's Spartan spectacle.
