According to The Hollywood Reporter, John Wells Productions has signed screenwriter Sean Hood as the new writer on "BREATHTAKER", based on the novel by Alice Blanchard. Sheldon Turner, who did rewrites on the "AMITYVILLE HORROR" remake and is scripting the new "TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE" prequel, did the initial draft on the tale of an Oklahoma police chief tracking a serial killer who attacks during tornadoes, making his gruesomely murdered victims appear to be storm casualties. Hood has worked on numerous genre projects, including "HALLOWEEN: RESURRECTION", the long-delayed "THE CROW: WICKED PRAYER", "CUBE 2: HYPERCUBE" and Wes Craven's "CURSED", along with the Paramount/MTV Films project "THE DORM".
