Eli Roth Producing "CLOWN" & "AFTERSHOCK"
Cross Creek Pictures and Vertebra Films are teaming to distribute and finance respectively two horror features which "HOSTEL" filmmaker Eli Roth will produce.The first is "CLOWN" which commercials and music video helmer Jon Watts is directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with Christopher D. Ford.
The story follows a loving dad who dons an old clown suit for his son's birthday. When the party is over, he finds the outfit and make-up won't come off no matter what he tries, and he himself is changing both psychologically and physically due to it.
The film is a feature version of the viral video faux trailer the pair put together that went online in October. You can watch it below:
The other is a "high-octane horror-thriller" called "AFTERSHOCK". Set during the aftermath of the Chilean earthquake back in February, details are scarce on the English-language film other than the backdrop of the disaster will be used to create a film with intensity akin to "REC".
Roth will co-write the script with Latin-American filmmakers Nicolás López and Guillermo Amoedo. López will direct.
