Aventi

Fantôme Invisible Le Aventi DVD

Born as Béla Ferenc Dezso Blasko in 1882 in Ludos, Hungary, Bela Lugosi marked the beginning of speaking cinema, in particular in the horror genre, being the first actor to take the name of the frightening Count Dracula for Tod Browning in 1931.
Famous actor in his native country, he immigrates in the United States in 1921. Celebrity came up in 1927 when he plays the part of Count Dracula in the Broadway version of the legendary novel by Bram Stocker.
The play was played for three years and was later unforgettably adapted for cinema by Tod Browning, establishing Lugosi as the personification of evil on screen. Loyal to his image, Bela Lugosi was buried dressed in the costume of the Prince of Darkness when he died in 1956.

Aventi Distribution launches a collection of DVD dedicated to Bela Lugosi, for the great pleasure of his fans or to give the chance to those who doesn't know this character to discover him.
You can get the movies of this collection in packs of two, as they just last a bit more than an hour, excepted for "Plan 9 From Outer Space" which will be released alone. For 15 euros, you'll get a beautiful digipack which contains two movies to have!

About "Invisible Ghost", we get at last the chance to see it in its original version subtitled in French. Unfortunately, the copy is a bit damaged and snowy.

From another side, the movie is proposed, here, in its original mono version.

So, for the Bela Lugosi fans or the old horror movie fans, you understand that this edition of four DVDs in indispensable!

DVD

Sound : English Mono
Length : 63 min

Bonus :
- Another movie with Bela Lugosi : "THE DEVIL BAT"!

Bach Films

Fantôme Invisible Le Bach Films DVD

Following through with it's low price DVD policy, Bach Films releases, in it's on going collection "Les inédits du Fantastique" ( Unseen/Rare horror film), not that unseen as Aventi released it previously in their own Bela Lugosi collection.
The DVD respects the original work, presenting it here in it's original language with French subtitles and it's original aspect ratio; but save for a meekly 3 minutes Making Of and a trailer of the movie "SCARED TO DEATH" there are no extras. These are really slim pickings, but at this low price you can't really expect much more.

DVDFormat

Sound : English Mono
Subtitles : Français
Length : 63 min

Bonus :
- Making Of (about the restoration of the film)
- "SCARED TO DEATH" Trailer
