Why remake a perfect movie? That's the question that often floats in one ear and out the other. Here's the answer... if this film is foreign, nobody will show up to see it. So the safe can be said about "LET THE RIGHT ONE IN", which is critically praised and still could never make the big bucks at the box office. Hence the reason Matt Reeves is directing a remake for Overture Pictures....

Those lucky bastards over at IGN got their hands on the official trailer for Tomas Alfredson's "LET THE RIGHT ONE IN", which Magnet will unspool in New York and LA on October 24th as part of their Six Shooter Film Series. "CLOVERFIELD" director Matt Reeves has been hired by Overture Films and Hammer Films to write and direct a remake of "LET THE RIGHT ONE IN" with plans to release it sometime in 2009. Tomas Alfredson's original Swedish vampire film of the same name, which opens in limited release on October 24th, tells the story of a young boy who befriends a girl who happens to be a vampire....

The first of Magnet Releasing's "Six-Shooter Series" is Tomas Alfredson's "LET THE RIGHT ONE IN", which will be arriving in New York and Los Angeles theaters on October 24th. Today BD were provided with the official poster for the film, which can be found inside. In the pic, a fragile, anxious boy, 12-year-old Oskar is regularly bullied by his stronger classmates but never strikes...

*Hammer Films and Spitfire Pictures plan to remake Tomas Alfredson's Swedish feature "LAT DEN RATTE KOMMA IN" says Variety. Spitfire will produce the remake, and set a writer shortly to pen an English-language version that will play under the translated title of "LET THE RIGHT ONE IN" . The story is a contemporary vampire tale about a 12-year-old boy who befriends a young female...
