"SURROGATES" One-Sheet!

SURROGATES SURROGATES One-Sheet Here's a first look at the one-sheet for Touchstone Pictures' "SURROGATES", hitting theaters on September 25.
Directed by Jonathan Mostow, the sci-fi thriller stars Bruce Willis, Radha Mitchell, Rosamund Pike, James Francis Ginty, Boris Kodjoe and Ving Rhames.

In the film, FBI agents (Willis and Mitchell) investigate the mysterious murder of a college student linked to the man who helped create a high-tech surrogate phenomenon that allows people to purchase unflawed robotic versions of themselves—fit, good looking remotely controlled machines that ultimately assume their life roles—enabling people to experience life vicariously from the comfort and safety of their own homes. The murder spawns a quest for answers: in a world of masks, who's real and who can you trust?

Synopsis : Set in a futuristic world where humans live in isolation and interact through surrogate robots, a cop (Willis) is forced to leave his home for the first time in years in order to investigate the murders of others’ surrogates.

Though it would be exspensive to create such hardware there are still jobs to do. If they all lived in a virtual world then the civilization we have built would crumble because everyone would live in a virtual world. So actually its better in the long run to splurge a bit on the hardware for the sake of daily maintenance purposes.

I think this looks like a fun movie, but the premise seems a stretch. In a world like this future, wouldn't it be easier and cheaper just to construct a matrix like virtual environment and have everyone create their own avatar. Having real hardware robots walking around seems unnecessary and expensive, when compared to a totally virtual world. But, I will go and enjoy the movie nevertheless. After all it's only entertainment.
