Paul Dano Joining Johnson's "LOOPER"
"BRICK" and "THE BROTHERS BLOOM" writer/director Rian Johnson is readying his third feature "LOOPER" for a shoot early next year and has signed Paul Dano ("LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE", "THERE WILL BE BLOOD") for a role reports The Playlist.The story follows a group of assassins (Loopers) working for a crime syndicate who eliminate and dispose of captive targets that are sent to them. The genius however is that the syndicate exists three decades into the future.
Thus the Loopers dispose of a corpse that doesn't technically exist, while in the future the targets have truly vanished without a trace. The main thrust of the plot has a man (Bruce Willis) sent back to kill the younger version of himself (Joseph Gordon-Levitt).
Dano will play Seth, a fellow looper and a role that's brief and mostly contained to the first act, but is said to be pivotal.
Emily Blunt also stars and shooting will kick off shortly in Louisiana.
Synopsis : In 2074, when the mob wants to get rid of someone, the target is sent 30 years into the past, where a hired gun awaits. Someone like Joe, who one day learns the mob wants to 'close the loop' by transporting back Joe's future self.
