Achingly lonely, Owen spends his days plotting revenge on his middle school tormentors and his evenings spying on the other inhabitants of his apartment complex. His only friend is his new neighbor Abby (Chloe Moretz), an eerily self-possessed young girl who lives next door with her silent father (Oscar nominee Richard Jenkins). Recognizing a fellow outcast, Owen opens up to her and before long, the two have formed a unique bond.

How typical! Take a low-key, delicate and luminous European masterpiece (and when I say low-key I do not mean shitty special FX - on the contrary the CGI is top-notch and looks more natural than Hollywood could ever dream) and turn it into a loud, "action-packed", pretentious piece of the same ol' BS that Hollywood is so good at. This American makeover is a blasphemy in relation to the quietly sublime Swedish film. I mean does Hollywood think the American audience is so lobotomized as to not be capable to watch and enjoy a beautiful and very palatable foreign movie unless it is 'translated' into standard blockbuster crap?!?
